Markus Lauritsen is a Ph.D. student in the DARSA group at Aarhus University, focusing on plant phenomics and AI-driven environmental response mapping. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Robot Systems) in 2020 and his Master of Science in Engineering (Robot Systems) with a profile in Advanced Robotics Technology in 2022, both at the University of Southern Denmark.

Passionate about integrating AI—particularly computer vision—and his knowledge of mechanical design and electronics, Markus’s Ph.D. research centers on developing high-throughput phenotyping tools, including the Duckweed Automatic Robot for Phenomics (DWARPH), to study plant responses across complex environmental conditions.

A dedicated maker with a profound interest in nature and the outdoors, Markus combines technical innovation with ecological curiosity to bridge technology and biology, contributing to the future of sustainable agriculture.
